Who We Are

Kely, the country mouse (Little Elm, Texas , pop. 900) and Jennifer, the city mouse ( San Francisco ), were students at Baylor School of Law. The happy couple met at a “law buddy” party.

Things moved quickly, and 11 months later nuptial bliss was secured.

After graduation and passing the Bar exam (a test from which they both still suffer nightmares) Kely and Jen quickly dropped their choice of profession, and entered Antioch Community Church 's missions training school. While on their very first overseas outreach in 1993, their first child, Jeffrey Shaun, surprised everyone by prematurely bursting onto the scene 9 weeks earlier than expected – in Irkutsk, Russia! (That's Siberia!)

Kely began directing Antioch 's missions training school the next year, a post which he kept for 7 years. Jennifer stayed busy discipling young ladies, and producing further offspring: Maddy Grace in 1995, and Emma Kathryn in 1999.

The Braswells mission adventures have found them in such far-flung places as The Netherlands, Uzbekistan , Germany , Mongolia , Russia , Afghanistan , Pakistan , Turkey and Uganda.

In Fall 2000, the Braswells gave away all their possessions and moved to Turkey , where they helped start a church. They returned to the States in 2003.

They moved to Knoxville in Summer 2004. They are on a mission to plant a LifeGroup church which becomes a worldwide movement of church planting churches.

Caden Jackson, the 4th Braswell child, was born in March of 2005. Then there was Isabelle Virginia (Elli) in 2007.  And lo and behold, surprising us all with delight, Coulter Harrison decided to be born at the end of 2009.  In case you’ve lost count, that’s 6 kids!  3 boys and 3 girls, just like the Brady Bunch.

Kely has varying interests, from reading voraciously and running marathons, to NASCAR and just about any sport. He also likes birds.

Jennifer, on the other hand, doesn't like birds at all. She loves mentoring overseas missionaries and mentoring the women on our church staff, shuttling children to various functions, and fulfilling her role as the best wife and mother on the planet.
